Typical Schedule for Summer Writing Institute

7:45-8:30 am: Breakfast with peers, mentors, and faculty

9-10:15 am: Classroom discussion of assigned reading

10:30-11:30 am: Directed writing session

11:45 am-12:30 pm: Lunch with peers, mentors, and faculty

1-2:30 pm: Free time to read, relax, or work on a draft

2:30-4:00 pm: Workshop of student writing

4-5:45 pm: Free time to write, read, or relax. An occasional field trip might be scheduled during these hours.

5:45-6:30 pm: Dinner with peers, mentors, and faculty

7-9:00 pm: Evening activities may include guest lectures, student readings, and readings from established writers
