BGS Traditional Program

The Bachelor of General Studies Traditional Program was created in 1975 and continues to be a superb choice for those adult learners who are able to attend courses within the daytime university schedule.

A significant scholarship of a 46% tuition reduction is granted to all BGS students by Gonzaga University for 1 - 12 credits per semester. The full tuition rate is charged for 13 credits and above.

Students will graduate with a bachelors degree in general studies when the students complete a minimum of 128 semester credits, including:

  • the Gonzaga University BGS core requirements of 40 credits or transfer equivalents
  • at least twenty-one credits per concentration of choice. Typically a student chooses one concentration and a second or third may be earned. Twenty-one semester credits in a concentrated field of study may include approved transfer credits. Nine of those twenty-one credits must be upper division courses. There are approximately 33 pre-set concentrations from which to choose, including Human Services, Pre-Law, Information & communication, and Education.

As a BGS student, you will enjoy instruction from qualified faculty university-wide. You will have access to our Blackboard site designed especially for daytime BGS students to keep you informed of important dates and information.
