Economics Symposium

Thursday, October 7, 2010  The Office of the Dean and the Economics Symposium Steering Committee are proud to present the 22nd Economics Symposium and luncheon at Gonzaga University.  This year's symposium will include an address by Yoram Bauman, Ph.D., the world's first and only stand-up economist.  Dr. Bauman teaches in the University of Washington's award winning Program on the Environment and has appeared at numerous venues across the nation.   Dr. Bauman's address, "Comedy, Economics, and Climate Change," promises to be dynamic.  For more information on Yoram Bauman, the Economics Symposium, and how to register, please click here.

Family-Owned Business Conference

Monday, October 18, 2010  An all-day event, this conference gives the family members of family-owned businesses the opportunity to discuss business situations unique to family businesses.   This year's keynote speaker, Dr. Lee Hausner, is a renowned family business consultant and psychologist specializing in issues of wealth and wealth transfer.  Dr. Hausner's book, Hats Off to You: Balancing Roles and Creating Success in Family Business Succession, outlines a unique, six-step transitional model for succession in family business.  Dr. Hausner's speech, "The Success of Small Family Business Succession," will lead the event, followed by break-out sessions and group discussion on related topics.  This event includes a continental breakfast, lunch and a concluding reception.  For more information on the Family-Owned Business Conference, Dr. Lee Hausner, and how to register, please check back soon.
