GAMP
The Gonzaga Alumni Mentor Program matches both full-time and part-time students with professionals in their fields of interest. This program is a valuable career enhancement tool for Gonzaga MBA and MAcc students and alumni. GAMP offers graduate business students and alumni the opportunity to develop professional networking contacts, exchange information, and share personal experiences and interests.
GAMP's key advantage resides in its participants. Gonzaga alumni from the business community offer mentorship and referrals to Gonzaga students and fellow alumni. GAMP activities and directories provide the link between the two parties. Ultimately, GAMP can provide contacts within key companies and critical information regarding career opportunities. With the right initiative, GAMP can be an invaluable resource.
Currently, GAMP chapters exist in Spokane, Seattle, Portland, Boise, San Francisco and San Jose. The long-term goal is to expand GAMP nationwide, connecting students and alumni throughout the United States. For more information regarding GAMP please contact Kevin Pratt, GAMP Director, (509) 313-4086 or by email at pratt@gu.gonzaga.edu.
Internship Information
Gonzaga University's internship program is designed to provide benefits to both students and business partners. Interns are able to receive academic credit and wages, gain significant and diverse business experience, and increase their marketability and productivity after graduation. For more information regarding internships, please contact Dr. Kay Carnes, Internship Director, (509) 313-3420 or by email at carnes@gem.gonzaga.edu.
Gonzaga Career Center
In addition to GAMP, the Gonzaga Career Center (located in the center of the Gonzaga campus) provides valuable services and resource to prepare MBA and MAcc students for successful careers in business. Students are encouraged to utilize any or all of the following services:
Career 301 Seminars
These classes are presented by professionals from The Career Center and the Counseling and Career Assessment Center. Topics include: Self-Assessment, Career Planning, Resume Writing, and Job Search Techniques.
Interview Training
Community and business leaders volunteer their time to interview students. Following the interview, the student's presentation skills are evaluated by the interviewer. This process sharpens the communication skills and builds confidence for interviews with recruiters.
Career Resources Library
Company profiles and annual reports, as well as position openings, are accessible to student and alumni who visit the Career Center.
On-Campus Interviewing and Recruiting
More than 125 corporate recruiters visit the Gonzaga campus during the fall and spring semesters to share employment information and to discuss career opportunities.
