et bienvenue sur le site web de notre département! There are four of us in the French program at Gonzaga University; Françoise Kuester, Benjamin Semple, Candice Nicolas, and Leslie Norman. We pride ourselves on excellent language instruction, small and individualized classes, and a variety of courses at the advanced level. Once students have reached proficiency in French, they choose between two orientations: one focuses on French society, politics and business (recommended for students seeking careers in business, international law, or the non-profit sector); the other focuses on French literature, history and culture (recommended for students going on to careers in secondary and higher education). We recognize that today's students are concerned not on'ly with what they study, but how it will contribute to their eventual career path. In the French program, we therefore seek to give students a degree in French that prepares them for professional life in the 21st century. Many French majors at Gonzaga are preparing a second major as well. They integrate their study of French with a degree in biology, business, public relations, or international studies in order to pursue careers in business, medicine, or law. Other graduates of our French program serve as Peace Corps volunteers in French-speaking countries, enter into the teaching profession, or continue on to obtain graduate degrees.
We also offer a semester or a full year in Paris through the Paris Program!
