The English Department is pleased to announce the Franz and Ann Schneider Essay Contest for the best student essays from the year's Composition and Introduction to Literature courses.  Any student enrolled in English 101, 200, 102, 105, or 106 during summer term 2009, fall semester 2009, or spring semester 2010 is eligible to enter. (Note: essays from spring semester 2009 that were due in class after the March 30, 2009 cut-off for last year’s contest may be submitted this year.) No more than two essays may be submitted by any student. All submissions will be evaluated by a committee from the English Department. Prizes, including cash ($100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place), will be awarded to the authors of the best essays from English 101/200 and English 102/105/106.

The deadline for the Schneider Essay Contest is March 30, 2010.
